UWC Ireland's Selection Process

UWC Ireland’s Selection Process

UWC Ireland’s application process consists of two stages – the Application stage and the interview stage.

1. Application stage

The application stage consists of an online form. Candidates are required to create a profile and fill out our online application form, which includes six sections. Examples are: personal info, essay section, parent/guardian consent and other information. You can find out more about our current application requirements on the How To Apply page.

2. Interview stage

Once the UWC Ireland National Committee has reviewed applications, we will invite shortlisted candidates to an interview day — generally a weekend day in mid-February. You must be available for an interview on that day to apply, as there is a group element to the interview process.

The interviews on the day generally consist of 2 individual interviews and a group interview or task. You should be prepared to talk about the topics in your application, as well as share your thoughts and opinions on various other topics that relate to your skills and knowledge that will set you apart as an applicant to UWC.

Do note: Applications open 1 Nov 2025 and close 18 Jan 2026. Find out more about the process for applying for a scholarship here.

Please also note that you are only allowed to submit one application per academic year to study at UWC, even if you are eligible to apply via more than one UWC national committee.

We look forward to receiving your application and helping you embark on this life-changing journey!
If you don’t meet the criteria above, have a look at the UWC International site and find out more about other ways to apply to UWC.
